Ms. Auger received her Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from Florida Atlantic University. She started her career as a volatile organic chemist in Boca Raton, Florida testing soil, air, and water on the gas chromatography-mass spectrometry system. Ms. Auger began working for the City of Abilene in 2014 as a health inspector and received licensing as an Registered Environmental Health Specialist from the State of Texas and from the National Environmental Health Association. Her duties include inspection of various environmental health issues from:
- Food Establishments
- On-Site Sewage Systems
- Vector Control
She was promoted to Environmental Health manager in May 2017 and works closely with all divisions of the Abilene-Taylor County Public Health District and the community to prevent disease, injury, and disability related to people and their environment.
